Although not much has changed for the 2018 Ford Fusion, it is still a car that you might want to consider. It is one of the few lower-priced cars available in both a hybrid and a plug-in model, for consumers who are looking for a gas alternative and want to reduce their carbon footprint.
The new Fusion also has a lot of new technology available that allows drivers to enjoy the ride. A quick and sporty look is what attracts most car enthusiasts, but the Fusion really has something for everybody.
Trim levels
One of the best parts of the Ford Fusion is that it comes in many different trim levels. The one that is right for you depends on what you are looking for and the amount of money you want to spend.
Fusion S: The S is the base trim package that comes standard with a 2.5-liter I-4 engine, six-way manual driver’s seat, 16-inch alloy wheels, an audio system with four speakers, an infotainment system and a 2.3-inch panel dash display. It also has the options add-ons of automatic headlights, a rotary gear shift dial, LED tail lights, push start ignition, hill start assist and a chrome grill. It is an excellent choice for someone who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles.
Fusion SE: A slight upgrade, the SE comes with 1.5-2.0 liter engines and 17-inch alloy wheels. The driver’s seat has a ten-way power mode, and the passenger seat has six. It also comes standard with six speakers and an upgraded 4.2-inch dash display. Fully loaded, it comes with built-in SiriusXM satellite radio, heated and powered side mirrors and seats, and LED running headlights.
Fusion Titanium: For the person who is looking for more than the basic model has to offer, the Titanium trim comes standard with a 2.0-liter engine, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated leather seats, and paddle shifters. It also has a ten-way controllable front seat, 12-speaker Sony system, which includes HD radio, dual-zone temperature control, and it can sync with both ApplePlay and Android Audio. The 4.2-inch display is simplified, and it has interior ambient lighting to make the ride more enjoyable. To keep everyone comfortable, Ford has added rear air- conditioning vents, and for additional safety it comes with rear parking sensors and LED fog lights.
Fusion Sport: The sportiest of the trim levels, the sports trim has a 2.7-liter V6 engine. The 19-inch alloy wheels make any excursion possible. Not to be overlooked is the luxury addition of heated sports seats and leather surfaces that make it feel just a little more luxurious.
Fusion Platinum: For those who want the top of the line, the Platinum is no-holds-barred luxury. This trim level comes with just about everything you can imagine from high-end leather seats, and 19-inch awesome alloy wheels to leather-wrapped instrument and console panels. Not only does the car have heated seats, but they can also cool down. With more technology built in, the car has rear-cross traffic alert, a navigation system, SYNC Connect, wipers that sense rain intensity and adjust accordingly, a self-parking system, and a heated steering wheel. No expense was spared to make the Platinum feel like an incredibly luxurious ride.
If you haven’t given the Ford Fusion a look, you just might want to. It’s an excellent sedan for a price that anyone can afford, and there are many trim levels to choose from to suit your budget and preferences. Testing high in safety, the gas version gets 25 mpg, and it also comes in hybrid and plug-in versions. The plug-in models can go as many as 21 miles on a full charge, which means that you can get where you want to be without gas charges.
The new Fusion might not differ that much from last year’s model, but the Fusion is a vehicle that suits everyone’s needs, from family car to single young professional. Stop by a dealer today to see which one is right for you!
