Patrik Svedberg is Swedish photographer based in the second largest lake in Sweden – lake Vättern. On his way to work he first saw the tree and in May 2013 he decided to shoot (with his broken iPhone) & catalogue it for the first time. After uploading it on Instagram the photo received 43 likes and a year later he named it the broccoli tree and it has its own fan base on Instagram (it sounds like a Hollywood movie story right?).
