Alexandra Soldatova, a very creative photographer put together a series of captured photographs (‘It Must Be Beautiful’) where he takes photos of colourful painted bus stops across the country of Belarus.
While being interviewed, Alexandra said that during the 80’s many unknown artists painted all the colourful walls of the bus-stops in order to “decorate the reality”. Moreover, the concepts differ depending the region of the county (for example: on the easter town of Ordha there are flowers, on the contrary (southern road of Zitkovich Turov) the artists drew mostly landscapes. “H/T”: designyoutrust hyperallergic.
Soldatova said, “This project is about decorating reality. All these paintings on the bus stops are made through local authorities by unknown “artists” with the only purpose to beautify empty landscape.”
