The Majestic Stingrays Of Tropical Oceans

Are you familiar with Stingrays? They’re those majestic cartilaginous fish that appearing to be flapping their wings in the middle of the ocean.

Stingrays belong the Ray family of fish just like Manta Rays. They love tropical islands and can usually be found in big groups. They are also friendly with humans and you’ll often see images of them with humans in the Maldives or other islands they inhabit.

Their only defense mechanism is their stinger on their tail but they only use it as self-defense. Many might be familiar or aware of these animals because of what happened to Steve Irwin, who was stung in 2006. However, it is worth noting that this is a very rare thing to happen.

These animals are not endangered but we should still do our best to preserve their natural habitat so this doesn’t change in the future!

Have you ever swam with our friendly rays fellow lazy penguins?
