We have seen the photos below constantly on Facebook, Twitter etc but we couldn’t imagine the origin of the route. The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a distinct and strikingly large route that goes through the Northern Japan Alps, which is extended across by various means of transportation (cable cars, trolley buses and a ropeway). It is especially well known for the high snow walls that line some of its roads in spring.
According to Wikipedia: The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a famous mountain sightseeing route between Tateyama, Toyama and Ōmachi, Nagano, Japan. The whole route opened on June 1, 1971.
