Mental Illnesses Portrayed As Illustrations Of Monsters

When you think of a mental disorder, what comes to mind? Can you imagine it as a monster? Toby Allen does, with his series of prints drawn to portray the different illnesses that afflict us and the people around us, as monsters.

The project is called Real Monsters and the goal is to shed some light on the different disorders while giving them a face. The illustrations, besides being very beautiful and well drawn, are very informative. Each of them is represented by a monster and comes with some text with details about the problem and why it’s respective monster is the way it is.

Unfortunately fellow lazy penguins, at some point in our lives we all have suffered from a couple of these. However, the prints can help us look at them with a different, more positive mindset and make us realise they’re just silly little monsters holding us back.
