TripAdvisor says it’s the best restaurant in Burswood, and we’re telling you – believe the hype! The brand is the world’s most recognised Japanese restaurant, and there are locations around the world. The first to arrive in Australia was Melbourne’s establishment, with Perth then following suit. You can also find branches in London, all across the USA and in Asia – yes, even in Tokyo, because it’s truly that authentic. Japanese cuisine fuses seamlessly with South American food to bring out the best of everything that the West Coast has to offer. Expect plenty of fresh fish, and plenty of flavour.
Outback Jacks
You can’t beat a good classic – steaks are an absolute staple of restaurants and specialty cuisine. OBJ is famous across Australia for some of the best grills the country has to offer, and we’re not left out here in Perth, which is always nice. They have heaps of steak options, from a Porterhouse to a Surf’N’Turf, and there’s other stuff like burgers on the menu as well.
American food is generally very popular as takeaway now too; in fact, it could even rival the classic pizza from Deliveroo – which is why you can actually order your steak to go from Outback Jacks. Sometimes no matter how “on your doorstep” something is, it can always be closer.
Le Vietnam
We love Asian food here in Perth, and Le Vietnam represents its namesake well. Found on Barrack Street in the heart of the CBD, diners are treated to an eclectic array of delicious South-East Asian cuisine.
The place is highly rated, with queues often out the door. But it’s worth the wait once you get inside. The way the chefs push the boundaries means people flock here in droves – both tourists and locals like you.
People say the Banh Mi is the best that they’ve ever tasted in their lives, and there’s good news for vegans. There are five different kinds that you can enjoy. If you’re looking for somewhere fresh and friendly at a great price or a twist on a classic chicken soup, this place is worth every dollar you spend.
Friends Restaurant
This isn’t just amazing for Perth, this place is amazing for Australia. It’s apparently the second best in Australia – so we’ve saved our best ‘til last. This is fine dining at its absolute finest, you won’t find anything else like it. But it achieves its aims without being pretentious. Diners receive a warm welcome and a fond farewell, but chances are that you’ll want to come back.
The wine list is award-winning, the tasting menus set a benchmark for restaurants across Perth, and the whole experience is out of this world. We recommend the truffle degustation menu, with perfectly matched wines to each dish. Trust us, you’re going to love it.
