Have you ever wanted to have a piece of jewelry on you at all times that reminds you of home and at the same time is very personalised? The Cynefin Collection from Siina Heikkinen is what you’re looking for. The young artist from Finland creates jewelry and recently launched the Cynefin project that’s already gathered a lot of attention.
What’s Cynefin? It comes from a Welsh word meaning “a place we belong”. What’s so special about it? As the meaning of the word implies, the jewelry made of sterling silver forms minimalist pendants which may remind us of home or a place we’ve grown attached to. The way this is achieved is by stacking different layers to form the final pendant. This means each individual person can customise and personalise the pendant in such a way, giving it a lot of sentimental value.
It is a truly wonderful and innovative idea that we, lazy penguins, endorse because for better or for worse we have had to travel a lot in the past. This means that we spent a lot of time away from our homes, missing our family, our friends and our own space. Something like these pendants would have held great significance at difficult times like those.
Without further ado, here’s Cynefin!
