Klipspringer literally means rock jumper in Afrikaans and is the name of an adorable species of antelope. Their name comes from the way they move, just like jumping from place to place on the tips of their hooves.
Of course the way they move is not the only thing that’s unique about them. Although they belong in the same family of animals as antelopes, they are very different. They’re generally smaller and their horns are also very small.
When they move they tend to jump from rock to rock as if they were dancing and their hooves are perfect for that.
